Different icons for different planes
Another feature I think would be really cool would be the ability to create custom lists of aircraft. For example, you could mark certain registrations with a ⭐ or display them in a different color. That way, you could add the aircraft from your flying club or your friends and immediately recognize them.

Yes! Similar thoughts on another idea submission. Could favorite plans be marked with special icons? Could you get alerts for specific planes you are waiting for to enter your radar area?
Having investigated, lots of the open source versions are not great to use under a commercial license and there aren't many purchasable options - I think I might end up making my own!
