Multi-Function knob
Great project, and very much looking forward to getting my TDR.
I’m guessing that the knob allows the user to select their preferred function, I’m not sure how this currently works and what the possible functions are, so here is a possible flow:
1- I push the button, a list appears on-screen, of the possible functions. Using glass cockpit standard colour palette.
2- I rotate the knob, to select my preferred function (PF), cycle through a vertical list on the screen. Haptic (or audio) feedback would be great to give a feeling of switching between options, like a click.
3- I push on my PF, e.g. Zoom/Range
4- The PF list disappears, and now I can rotate the knob to change zoom.
5- Whenever I rotate the knob, a momentary box shows the visual scale e.g. “50 Miles” range.
6- This selected PF stays until I change it to another PF.
The PF list visibility is configured on the app (easier usability) to minimise the list appearing and cluttering the device screen, without limiting the number of options to the user.
Possible PF ideas:
- Zoom/Range
- FL threshold (up and down)
- Sweep beep/wave sound
- Main screen colour
- Night/day mode
- Fixed wing/helicopter
- Light/Heavy
- Civil/Military/Both
I hope this may be useful.
Cheers
Ali

These are all really nice suggestions and interestingly you've covered a lot of our first thoughts on the multifunction menu we're designing for the TDR display! I might break these down into some individual items soon to track them individually 😄
