Battery operated TDR
Can there be a version which has a rechargeable battery pack so you can take/place the TDR whenever and wherever you want/are?

·about 1 month agoThis is an interesting one for sure. For the first version we're not looking at a battery to keep costs down, but also to keep shipping easier (you can't typically send batteries in air freight).
But I would like to do this in future if there's enough demand, and we have a really neat idea for it, too.
So if you like this idea, keep voting for it!
2 double AA batteries or AAA. Rechargeable is not my preference since the battery pack could die. Plus, this would add to the overall cost. If there is a simple battery compartment on the side or bottom, then it allows easy access to widely available batteries. IMO
This is a great idea! I wat thinking also about this when Tom was showing the compass function on Tiktok. in combination with compass a TDR that has a built in battery would be great!
Without changing the design any, the end user could attach one of those metal rings that would let you mount your magsafe power bank to it with a short usb-c to usb-c cable
